Sorghum

• Sorghum is a species of grass that farmers grow and cultivate for multiple purposes, primarily for grain and syrup. They use the sweet sorghum variety for syrup production.
• Dale, M81E, Sugar drip, Theis and Tracy are some of the varieties of Sorghum. Farmers grow most sweet sorghum crops in states in the South and Midwest.
• Sorghum syrup and hot biscuits are a traditional breakfast in the southern Appalachia region in the South eastern United States.
