Sunflower Biomass

• Sunflower biomass could thus represent a good supplement to the pectin production process from citrus peels.
• The pectin quality/performance results have demonstrated the potential of sunflower biomass to become an additional source of raw material for the pectin production process.
• The relationships between leaf biomass and morphology, petiole’s mechanical &structural properties and the vertical light gradient inside the crop’s canopy were studied in field grown sunflower  plants, maintained at an optimum soil water and mineral status.
