Contact lens

In 1887, Adolf Fick was apparently the first to successfully fit contact lenses, which were made from brown glass
With over 31 million people wearing contact lenses in the United States alone, it is obvious that contact lenses are the number one choice for many people with vision correction needs.
In the early days of contact lens manufacturing PMMA lenses were produced with equipment of limited accuracy and polishing was used to give the lens its final surface and geometric quality. One of the important developments in lens manufacture was the introduction of high precision lathes in the early 1990s.
